British actor Christopher Lee portrays Muhammad Ali Jinnah-founder of Pakistan in a stunning 1998 movie
Jinnah that tragically for political reasons was never released except for a short time in Pakistan. Worse still, the DVD for this movie was only released in Brittain seven years ago, so its really hard to find (its not even on PPS !) Luckily the entire movie can be found on youtube but the quality is somewhat lacking.
Jinnah spectacularly tells the story of a great man who has sadly been forgotten by most of the world though his friends and enemies including Gandhi (甘地) and Nehru(尼赫鲁) are still well known to this day.
I found this film while doing research for my HIstory of India after Gandhi class, while I think that some of the things in this movie may be exagerated, and are a little difficult to understand without background knowledge, watching the move 《Gandhi》 first really gave me a better picture of everything that was going on。 Another confusing part of this movie is that part of it happens in the afterlife and another part is memories, so its a combination science fiction/ history movie.
I'll be calling you a little later today :)
